Discover the Liberation Cycling Route in Heeze, Leende and Sterksel
This unique cycling route takes you along the stories and memories from the time of the liberation in Heeze, Leende and Sterksel. Over a distance of approximately 50 kilometres, you will pass 29 numbered locations, each with its own history. Along the way, you can enjoy several terraces where you can stop for a snack and/or drink. At every point of interest, you will find a QR code that allows you to discover the accompanying stories.
During the route, you will encounter remarkable places such as Huisvenseweg 14 in Heeze, which once served as a hiding place for people in hiding. The locations of two emergency landings on the Valkenswaardseweg in Leende and the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Sterksel are also included. This route is not tied to a specific day — it remains available to cycle at any time you choose!
